Treatment of Cluster Flies within loft space

Treatment of Cluster Flies within loft space

Cluster Flies are predominately in lofts and wall cavities around this time of year as the weather gets colder.

You will often see them in late September through to early October, climbing the walls facing the South and South East of properties where the winter sun sits longest. As the weather cools the flies enter properties over the winter.

As we have had a mild winter to date the calls have only now started to pick up and treatments have begun.

Here we can see dead flies in a loft that have been accumulating over recent years, the customer has now started to notice the infestation rise again.

The activity arises each year and is controlled via a turbair machine. The knock-down insecticide is channelled through a high pressure unit forming a mist of insecticide that excites and kills the flies flushing them out from cracks and harbourage points.

Once the chemical is released large numbers of flies appear around lights and tumble down onto the loft floor.

If requested after 24 hours we can arrange a return visit to hoover and clear all the dead insects. It is important to remember that water tanks must be checked and sealed before treatment as we have done on this video to ensure no cross-contamination.
