Bed Bug Control

Preparation and Advice

Thank you for your visiting our website. You will need a MINIMUM of two treatments over the course of 4 weeks to eradicate a bed bug infestation. You may require more depending on the level of infestation. Our aim is to eradicate a bed bug problem at a property after two treatments using a combination of Heat Steam and professional insecticide.

Millennium Pest Control are very experienced in dealing with these infestations our local pest controllers have carried out over 1500 treatments to domestic homes in the past 5 years. However, for effective control it is imperative that the areas for treatment are provided with good access:

Preparation:

1) Remove all items of clothing and objects from underneath bed frames
2) Strip bedding and put in hot washes, if possible, dry clean any natural fibres to reduce risk of shrinking
3) Wash clothing again on hot wash (60 degrees) or dry clean where possible, this isn’t always feasible but clothes that have been in contact with beds or are stored near bedding can be at risk. Temperatures of 60 plus degrees will kill any insect and their eggs
4) Empty wardrobes and drawers where possible and any bedside cabinets to ensure treatment access as they can access cracks and crevices
5) Skirting boards require accessibility as this is a regular harbourage point for bed bugs where they may sit dormant for days/weeks
6) We recommend a deep clean via hoovering to be concentrated to cracks and crevasses in all areas before we arrive
7) We also advise that personal belongings are to be bagged and left in the middle of rooms to protect against chemical contact

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to be clear from the property while the treatment is taking place and also for the resulting 4 hours to allow drying time.
DO NOT LEAVE HOOVER BAGS IN PROPERTY AFTER YOU HAVE HOOVERED DISPOSE OFF IMMEDIATELY.

Post Treatment Advice:

1) Bed bugs are aggressive feeders and feed once every three nights, after our treatments they will become very agitated due to chemical flushing agents and you must be prepared for an increase in activity post our initial visit.
2) The growth hormone regulator used will initially stop the insects from breeding to help reduce the reproduction stages.
3) After 10-14 days hoovering must take place regularly (daily if possible) to; reinvigorate the chemical, bring it back to the top of the carpet fibres, help remove any left-over eggs, and hoover away any adults left.
4) The second visit will require the exact same process and we can expect slight increases again after our second visit of activity; however, this will subside after a few days. You may find in some cases that a third treatment is needed if an infestation is particularly bad and this will need to be charged as such.
5) We have known sightings of bed bugs (only singular) up to 3-4 weeks after our second visit but this is not unusual and will not mean that the treatments have not worked and to ensure this, we give a two-month guarantee

Bed Bug Facts

Bed bugs are reddish brown flat and oval in appearance, they are 4 -6 mm in length, their mouths are formed so they can pierce through human skin and suck on the hosts blood. They do not fly, they have 6 legs that enable them to crawl and climb many vertical surfaces. Female bed bugs lay 200 – 500 eggs every 2 months and deposit them in numbers of 30 – 50 each time. Eggs can hatch within a week. An average bed bug will live for 10 months. To survive bed bugs need to feed on blood from humans or animals, surprisingly one bed bug can lay dormant and survive for approximately 10 months after 1 single feed.

Brilliant service

Brilliant and friendly service by Tony Bennett, he was very knowledgeable and offered lots of advice. The report was completed very quickly and was very helpful to remember the key points. I’m very pleased with the service received and I would definitely recommend millennium pest control.

Good Value for money

When I saw I had to pay £200, I was a bit shocked, but didn't realise they would make three visits over six weeks!! - Plus supply all the poison and provide so much advice.
This represents great value and the guys are very friendly and I am very happy with the results.
My mice are not completely gone, but they are out of the house now and you can't really control what the neighbours do, but at least I now know whats happening and can stop them getting to the places I don't want them.
The service is so fast, I got a visit the very next day after I reported the problem, great company, highly recommended.
